you sound good, but you need more EC’s…and do you have a hooks? because i hear its hard to get into junior year and above…also can you look at mine…http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-chances/855811-read-i-spent-like-10-minutes-tell-me-if-im-good-match.html

hmmm idk waht to say, im in the same grade as u, but ur in higher classes then me. One thing you have to realize about Deerfield is that its a “sporty school”. I’m not saying everyone is an athlete, but most are. From what I’ve heard, ppl coming in soph-pg years have to offer something special, again IM NOT SAYIN ur chance is blown, but im a bit doubtful because alot of applicants have high grades, and no offense but ur ecs seem a bit lacking. No major hooks from what I see. For instance, im stereotyped as a football player, and yes that is my “major hook” you would say, but like you I am an active participater of MUN and debate. Do u see what I mean, unless u are truly amazing at those, I feel ur ecs are lacking. Look at this way, theres a kid who takes reg. and honors classes likes u but gets slightly lower grades, lower ssat, but has a major sport or art. I think esp. if ur applying for grades above freshmen, u need some type of hoook

debate is basically my hook. I was in the 10 person captains meetings (on a 50+ person team), and due to the competitiveness of our school i have to basically do just debate or miss out on leadership positions and tournaments.

hmm. have u talked to the schools ur applying to about this? the debate coaches? again, I do debate and MUN also, actually a regular award winner but my interviewer at Deerfield told me that wouldnt be a hook unless i was nationally ranked. U need something that makes u competitive.
