Deerfield - Chemistry IA?

Hello! I was wondering what the scheme of work for Chemistry IA in Deerfield Academy would be like i.e. what topics would be covered and how in-depth would it be? I have already completed 1 1/2 years of Chemistry, and I’m entering as a sophomore. Should I consider Chemistry AP instead? Pls advise! :)

"Chemistry IA: CHE340 (Year)

The course is intended for students with high aptitude for science and math. Chemistry I Accelerated emphasizes inquiry learning through the development of problem solving and laboratory skills. Students are encouraged to take the SAT II Chemistry test upon the completion of this course. Open to students who have completed Physics and who have also completed or will be concurrently enrolled in Algebra II or Honors Geometry. The exceptional student who is considering ChemIA might alternatively consider enrolling in AP Chemistry."

Talk to the science department and get their thoughts. One thing to consider is that the AP course is a 2 period class, which has some significant schedule implications. Think about Bio or Physics if you have already had a lot of chem.

Sure! Thanks for the advice
(I have already taken 1 1/2 years of Physics and Biology as well btw.)
