Quick question – Deerfield’s essay prompt has space for 12,000 characters. What would you consider an appropriate essay length? Should an applicant try and stick to the usual 500 word limit? Should an applicant write their heart out and submit a 2,000 word essay? Somewhere in between?
I just looked at my daughter’s from last year and it was about 1,000 words 5,600 characters with spaces. My vote would be in between.
