<p>It is amazing the building got as far as it did before the conclusion was reached that it could not be salvaged. There are so many checks at each stage of construction to build one of these big buildings that you would think someone would have figured out the problems sooner. The good news was that no one was able to pay bribes to get the building put up anyway.</p>
<p>I agree with razorsharp, how could something like this have happened? Ouch, this is going to cost some people a lot of money.</p>
<p>With all the stalled projects and over building in Vegas, I think they might have been looking for a reason to shut the project down. Maybe they come out ahead with their construction insurance?</p>
<p>Apologies if I offend anyone attached to Vegas (and I will add I’ve quite enjoyed visiting there!), but I have always felt it was a city that was probably run with a lot of dubiousness/corruption around ethics and the law. If that is the case, maybe this isn’t the first or only building in Vegas to have questionable standards. Maybe the first to be revealed as such but now, as the others have pointed out, there is an incentive and excuse to knock it down.</p>
