<p>My kid was accepted to Penn State - University Park - on defered status (taking a gap year.)
If the kid applies to other colleges during this year will that jeopardize the Penn State admission? Will they find out and rescind the offer?</p>
<p>It’s usual that deferred “gap years” have stipulations that the applicant not “shop around” and apply to others. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that if one chooses to violate that agreement, the college is fully within its rights to rescind the offer.</p>
