Hello CC Community! I have a question about the admission process for deferred action students. Currently I am a rising senior and will start applying to the following colleges this coming fall: NYU Steinhardt(Early Decision1), Emory Oxford, UGA, and Georgia Tech. Right now I am deferred as an immigrant. I understand that I won’t be able to receive in state tuition or receive federal aid for scholarships. However, what about the admission process itself? I am not worrying about the tuition itself but more about the “getting into” part. Will my status as a deferred immigrant hurt my chances of getting into my desired schools? Or will I be still considered the same as everyone else?
Thanks!

bumppppppp

bumping again…i really need answers guys ><

I’m not really sure but can you apply as an international student and get an F1 visa with I-20? If you can then there’s nothing to worry about

Why don’t you call the admissions office of one of those and ask? They know the correct advice for people of all sorts of immigration statuses.
