Just wanted to throw this out there-
I know people at my school (in SC) that got accepted early action. Their gpas were like a 2.something on an unweighted scale…
This was what I was referencing from yesterday. I’m sure the overall admit rate is HIGHLY affected by a much higher in state admit percentage. So it’s impossible to tell.

At my tour last June, during the admissions presentation, they listed the top 5 majors that are the most competitive: Business, Psychology, Engineering, Biology (all areas) and Nursing were all listed. The presenter also stated that education was becoming fairly competitive as well as political science. He said sometimes these change year to year, but for the most part it is those five. There are also majors that only take a small amount of applicants as well as any portfolio or performance based major that can be competitive.

We toured in January and business was not listed as one of the popular majors this cycle. The others were listed by admissions.

Maybe it changed after the first round of EA? In June they talked extensively about how Business was competitive and to have a second choice related like maybe marketing.
We were fully anticipating hearing that when we were there, not a peep about business being competitive. We were glad we didn’t hear it though.
