Deferred U Mich Ann Arbor Class of 2021

Applied EA, received an interview, and was deferred. Waiting anxiously for decisions now…

Yes, waves have been coming out bi-monthly since February.

*Bi-monthly. I wish they came out bi-weekly (or in layman’s terms, twice a week).

And I personally think that April 1st is the day we will hear back. No point in them releasing the acceptances right before the deadline. Might as well release it on the deadline.

My bad. Just edited it. You could be right; however, last year, most people were waitlisted on April 1st, unfortunately.

^Well that’s depressing. UMich is the only school I really want to go to at this point.

The deadline isn’t April 1st. No one ever said that…

Lengthy Post Ahead

Is anyone aware of a way to see if 7th Semester Grades were received? My deferral letter only reccomended that I send them but didn’t require them.
Due to this, my WA page only tells me that my Transcript was received in February, nothing specific to 7th Semester Grades.

I’ve become increasingly paranoid that somehow I sent the university a duplicate of my original transcript (S1-S6) instead of my updated transcript with 7th Semester Grades when navegating the Parchment website.

I’m not sure if my WA would even update should the 2nd transcript had been identical to the original. Any information on how I could quell or confirm this paranoia of mine would be most appreciated.

@MICHIGAN410 So how you check if they’ve received it or not is if you go to WA and keep going as if you’re checking your “View Decision” page but instead of clicking on that click on “View Credentials”. And it should be there on “Other Required Application Materials”!

@koomsbooms17 Damn I forgot you were still here. Your counselor ever say anything?

I just received a reply for my 2nd loci and it was word for word the same response as my first one. Negative and gave me no hope:(

@MICHIGAN410 I had the same problem. I ended up asking my counselor about it & she called someone in admissions to verify that they got it (which they did). If they didn’t specifically ask for/require your 7th semester grades, it won’t show up on wolverine access, so if you want to be sure I’d suggest calling the school or talking to your counselor & having them call

@ivywannabe Is it actually true ? What you said about UofM playing yield games ? Wouldn’t that mean that we have a good chance of getting in if they really do drag out applicants with high stats
?

When is the next wave of decisions expected to come out by ?

Hey y’all! New to the thread here :stuck_out_tongue:
@michiganb I sent out my LOCI yesterday and got a response this morning. Out of curiosity, can you PM me the reply? I’m just curious to see if it’s similar to mine.

@michiganb Yeah can you just post the response here?

Here’s mine:

"Thank you for sharing these recent updates, I will be sure to note them in your application file, along with your continued interest.

Best,

Melissa Purdy"

I also had such a sweet and short reply to loci…accepted early feb.

Hi Swapneel,

Thank you for your email and your continued interest in The University of Michigan. This information will be included with your application materials and given consideration as we continue to assess your candidacy during our regular decision review period. Have a nice day and Go Blue!

Best,
Office of Undergraduate Admissions

I got this on 13th feb… still nothing ugh

On belhalf of Erica sanders and myself I thank you for expressing your continued I trest in Michigan pleased be assured it will be noted in my evaluation. The university has a record breaking 58000 applicants this year so it is very competitive.

Unfortunately, with your recalculated gpa of a 3.5 and Bs and Cs in 11th grade as well as 1st semester of 12th grade and her 29 ACT score made you a less competetative Canadite academically. Then she gave me last years scores.

I don’t know how she recalculated my gpa and grades because I have a 4.0 and no Cs ever so?

I’m getting denied end of story
