Guys do you think there are still a decent amount of acceptances left to give out or not really
@michiganea2021 - Nobody knows man. And anybody that tells you they do - unless they are a Michigan admissions employee - is lying.
@michiganea2021 @bsangs There is a possibility that the acceptances are actually mostly all gone… From what many past applicants have told me, mostly deferrals and rejections are given out. However, these claims are coming from sources that are not very reputable as they themselves have gotten the information through rumors. I would ask the admissions officer in any case.
My sense is just from the sheer volume of applications (58,000+) and acceptances (approx.16,000) that are handed out I just don’t think the majority have already been sent given out. It really wouldn’t make sense to send out acceptances and then sent out rejections and wait lists - there could be great candidates toward the “bottom of the pile”. No amount of guessing at this point is worth anything. You have waited 5 months, so just another few more days to go - last year a huge batch came out 3/31 and 4/1.
My son was deferred…still waiting. I saw they are having their last Twitter chat for accepted students tomorrow night - it’d be nice if they released all the decisions today.
Anyones link disappeared?
@abk1215 well that doesn’t seem to be a good sign, if they expect to send more acceptances today or later, why would they have their “last” accepted student twitter chat tomorrow

“Waiting for Regular Decision Results”
At this point I feel like I will be going to my safety school, not my favorite place but still close to UofM and much cheaper and has given me a very generous package. I guess it really doesn’t matter if I get in now but hey an acceptance might change my mind. Anyone else feel like they have lost a lot of their initial interest? I mean I still check this page every day but at one point I said I would rather die than go to my safety but it is actually not looking too bad considering this whole process. Like I said getting accepted would make me beyond happy but I’m not sure at this point… it’s still my dream but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it…
@alexacool10 you can always transfer to umich and msu is also a good backup to umich.
@Eeeee127 Nobody wants to transfer
@UofMorMSU I know that transfer is not ideal, but it gives you a second chance and it can be easier to get in through that route. michigan actually accepts a lot of transfer students so if you want to still graduate with a michigan degree and get that 2 years of experience, thats definitely a great option. but its the person that matters more than the college name, and many people end up loving their second choice and being succesful.
@gdcap62 Was that “huge batch” of decisions that came out at the very end last year mostly rejections and wait list or did there still seem to be a number of acceptances remaining? What’s your source for this? Thanks.
@abk1215 The “last” twitter session for accepted students bodes poorly for students who haven’t heard yet. Why wouldn’t they have another one if they still planned to send out more acceptances?
- Concerned father of applicant
@Lvillegrad Based on last years CC thread, there were some acceptances but a lot of rejections and waitlists
I got accepted yesterday afternoon ! After being deferred for too long…
@OSB47DO Really? LSA?
does anyone know what’s UMichigan’s rejection letter looks like? I’d like to see it to be prepared
Thank you for your interest in the University of Michigan.
Still waiting to hear from Michigan
