So now they deleted the post/pin thing on twitter? Maybe it’s cuz they plan to release more acceptances hopefully.
Don’t get discouraged. Plenty of acceptances yet to be heard. I do not think a majority have received decisions so just a few more days and you’ll all know. Remember when deferred in December they always said April. Not April 1 or April 14 or a Friday in April, just April so be patient, enjoy your week and the decisions will be here soon enough! Congratulations to all you seniors who had the courage and the stats to apply to such a great school!
What are your stats?
"U-M AdmissionsVerified account
@UMichAdmissions
All admissions decisions will be released by early April. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide any additional info. #Victors2021"
Stats from College Data Website showing Applicants to U of M nationwide for class 2021:
Average stats of reported Nationwide Deferred Applicants: 3.75 UW, 1328 New SAT
Average stats of reported Nationwide Accepted Applicants: 3.87UW 1485 new SAT
Average of the entire College Data Pool regardless of decision is 3.73 UW and 1357 New SAT
30 reported being deferred out of 500 contributors
25 reported being Admitted (Only 5 reported admissions in State) It appears that a higher percentage of IS applicants are deferred and probably held in Limbo until the final RD release.
(I believe that most people are more likely to report an admission as compared to a deferral or rejection.)
15 reported admitted out of 130 EA applicants. A little over 10% of EA applicants were admitted. If there were 32,500 EA applicants that means they admitted about 3250 students on December 24. If 20% were from Michigan then only 650 spots were offered to IS applicants.
26% of 55,000 total applicants will be offered admission which equals 14,300 offers of admission this year.
They probably admitted another 10% during the latest round totaling probably 8,250 offers of admission to date. Over half of the next 7000 offers of admission will be IS students or 4000 or more admissions coming by mid April to applicants from Michigan. (3000 to OOS)
We know IS students make up half of the class so in the next release there will be more IS students admitted then OOS. If you are in state and deferred and your stats are higher then the above listed average you have a better then 50% chance of being admitted.
Check my numbers and please feel free to analyze and pick apart my conclusions.
Good luck everyone! BTW I am IS deferred 3.96UW 1340 New SAT
Go Blue!
Link to College Date Website:
UM Acceptances begin, “CONGRATULATIONS”
UM Rejections begin, “Thank you for your interest in The University of Michigan”
Incidentally, my experience is that most rejection/waitlist letters being, “thank you for your interest”…
Last year U-M admissions shows that of the 55,500 applications, 10,959 were submitted by in-state students with 4,511 being offered admissions for an acceptance rate of 42.4 percent in State.
Sitting here as an EA deferred OOS applicant with 3.98 UW and 1540 new SAT. Can’t make a decision without knowing Michigan. Want it to be over already!
The admissions Twitter page is doing their admitted students questions event right now and they tweeted that all decisions would be released by Mid April… They said early April a few hours ago. Starting to be less and less confident the decisions will be out early April.
Only deferred students will hear back by early april. Regular decision extends into April-- I believe.
@amarz12 yeah i think so too
I’m an EA OOS deferred student with an uw 3.93 GPA and 34 on the ACT, but I think I’ve just accepted the fact that I’m not getting into UMich… I’ll probably end up at U of Rochester or Case Western. My mom is a musician and I feel like half of her coworkers went to Eastman or the Cleveland Institute of Music (or both) so I think I’ll have good insight on those two cities/schools that I’ll probably have to choose between.
Sameish^^
I am in state with a 3.75 GPA and 31 ACT. I am a legacy and am on Team USA for my sport. I have a chance but you guys have a way bigger one. Keep faith
So i checked for the past four years and the decision day seems to be the end of the week in the last week of March for all of them
There is no “day” at this point. It is trickles…small and large. They come out until mid April.
Lets hope for friday
@uofmkatedeferred99 What sport do you play???
Did you get recruited anywhere?
@UofMorMSU I could go to northern Michigan on a full ride but their academics aren’t the best and it’s farrrr. Most schools don’t have Weightlifting programs, and sadly Michigan doesn’t
We should all request to see where we were given extra or less points on our application, and threaten to sue saying refusal to disclose violates the FOIA.
