@wannabewolverine My advice is simply to focus on where you got in. I’m 99% certain you’ll be happy there and Michigan will soon be a memory. And if you remain interested in Michigan, you can transfer. Many students who were initially rejected or waitlisted eventually gain admission as a transfer student.
Yes, for those invited to the waitlist you need to accept an offer from one of the colleges you’ve been accepted to and start making plans to attend. If you are someone who can turn on a dime this summer, and accept the offer quickly if it comes your way and dis-enroll from the college you accepted, go ahead and accept the waitlist. Historically wait list offers if there are any can be as late as the end of June. Be aware that I do recall several years ago they took zero from the waitlist and most years it is a very small number of kids who come off the waitlist so it truly is a crapshoot and will depend on how many kids enroll by May 1.
When I got my decision ( rejected) last week, I didn’t get any email at all, just randomly checked on the portal and saw that the decision had been changed…

How long after you paid your deposit did it take to get your uniqname?
@116092 a couple days. they are not open on the weekend so if you submit yours like thursday or friday, you might have to wait until early next week
just got in after submitting a deposit to berkeley… kinda pissed because I might’ve seriously considered UMich had I gotten in earlier
