There’s been a few engineers, and a few in-state. Most people have been out of state LSA
Honestly, didn’t think I would get in >.< stats aren’t as high as other people I saw on here. ACT 30. Weighted GPA 4.16. In-state. Rank 2 in class of 28. Not that many ECs. I also had a slight schedule change so I emailed the regional counselor about that and reminded her of my second semester transcript.
Good luck to everyone!!
wasn’t part of the first wave to hear back
i dont have much of a chance now do i

@iamokay123 same here… hopefully we will pull through in the next one
When is the next wave supposed to come out?
i was deferred and if i didn’t receive a response today should i just assume i didnt make it?
@iamokay123 no!!! There is still like 2 more months calm down
@juneXday Did you receive the “good” or “bad” deferral letter? The bad letter is the one that says they will not reevaluate until Feb.
@juntao99 if i received the good deferral letter saying she would advocate for my admission and stuff, is it bad that i didn’t get a decision this round? should i be worried
@juntao99 oh then the good letter i believe! I think it also helped a lot that I’m a legacy since it mentioned family ties and stuff
For those who got admitted, did you all send letters of interest?
Michigan was my first choice, but after all this waiting I really couldn’t care less if I get in or not. I would much rather get a rejection letter and have some sort of closure as opposed to this ambiguous and tiresome 4+ month wait.
are admissions really being affected by the “good” and “bad” letters?
@mithril54 I didn’t. The only thing I sent was information about a schedule change, and that was it. The deferral letter said they have everything they needed to make a decision except for 7th semester transcripts. I didn’t want to risk it even though my parents encouraged me to lol
@Filthy_Frank Yeah I was so in love with Michigan. By far my #1 choice, but honestly I feel like they’ve treated me (us) like dirt. Even if I get in, idk if I want to go there anymore.
We can’t give up hope guys
@juneXday Thanks. Lol same I didn’t know if I should send one or not because of what the deferral letter said.
@UofMorMSU I feel your pain in a sense. Michigan was my top choice but the way they’ve played with my application is ridiculous. Now I guess I’ll have to settle for Illinois.
@UofMorMSU Exactly how I feel. I fell in love with Michigan and made a conscious decision to do everything I could to help my chances. I raised my GPA to 3.8, retook the ACT to get a 31, took several AP and honors courses (I’ve essentially ruined my senior year by taking on debatably the heaviest course-load my school has to offer), took on several school leadership positions/sports, did tons of community service, spent tons of time on essays etc. I’m also in state (from your username I’m assuming you are as well) and seeing all of these OOS acceptances from people with lower stats than I is extremely frustrating. Michigan keeps getting harder and harder to get into each year and I’m wondering if it is even really worth all the effort. Especially now…
I’m sorry y’all feel so dejected, but keep in mind that even though college admissions feels super personal, colleges go through tens of thousands of applications every single year. It’s statistics more than a personal attack, and ultimately an acceptance is an acceptance no matter when you get it. While I can’t guarantee that everyone here will get in, I can guarantee that some of y’all will, so do your best to just wait it out. x People with both deferral letters have been accepted in the past, and keep in mind that there are still months before you have to make a choice. Most people aren’t going to have gotten a response yet, so just enjoy your senior year for now the best you can. xx Best of luck!!
