@TheShortSon okay thank you! I sent a loci toon about a month ago, so hopefully that helps
How important is a LOCI. My first semester grades were very good, is it needed?
If my regional officer didn’t respond to my LOCI, should I mail one into the office?
@scubadiverman Awlays good to show continued interest. Trust me, it helps.
My son (COE, EA, deferred) received a HAIL Alumni interview request
@danmhow that’s great. I had an interview back in November. It’s a great way to show interest and answer questions from someone who actually went through Engineering. Good Luck!
Does anyone think some will come out tonight
Is that how it was last week? Midnight Wednesday night/Thursday morning?
I don’t think we will for another week or two… unless anyone’s view decision links disappeared today? But I haven’t heard anything
What email response did you guys get to LOCI’s? I got the “good” deferral letter, but the email response I got to my interest letter seems very similar to the “bad” deferral letter.
I don’t know if it’s just me, I don’t really believe there is a good/bad deferral letter. I think that’s what someone said once and just kinda stuck. They probably send them out randomly–instead of making a decision about not only apps but what letter they should send as well
@EngStudent90 Yeah which deferral letter are you referring to as the “good” one? Also what was the response from your email?
@amarz12 I’m tempted to agree with you; however, it is definitely strange that they have multiple deferral letters.
@amarz12 appreciate it. If you’re still waiting on a decision then good luck to you.
@EngStdnt34123 I meant to address my comment to you, but it auto-filled to a different user with a similar name.
“good one” I got:
Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Engineering. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review. An official communication will be sent to your email address on file.
While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2017.
Strong fall semester or trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward them when they become available. Beyond that, we are confident that the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision. The most successful candidates send us only what we require. Please refer to the website https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2080 for FAQ?s about the admission process and what to do next.
We hope your interest in Michigan continues. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.
“bad one” from the response to my LOCI:
On behalf of our Director Erica Sanders and myself, I thank you for your continued interest in the University of Michigan. Please be assured that it will be noted in my evaluation of your application. The University received a record breaking 32,500 early action applications this year, so admission was very competitive. Before we can make a final decision on your application we need to further evaluate the strength of the regular decision applicants, as well as the yield rate of our admitted students to determine if we have space for you in the freshman class. We have received your 1st semester senior year grades so they can be considered as we continue to assess your application, but other than that there is nothing further we need from you at this time. As stated in your deferral letter, we will have a final admissions decision for you in early April. Again, admission to the University of Michigan is the most competitive it has ever been this year, so although I encourage all deferred students to keep the University of Michigan as an option, I would also encourage you to explore the other opportunities available to you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Has anyone gotten reg action decisions yet?
@Jellybean52 Someone said they got in RD earlier in this forum.
I never had a view decision, just the email.
@EngStdnt34123 Are you in-state?
