Deferred U Mich Ann Arbor Class of 2021

Maybe they did remove it, so if anyone hears at midnight make sure to post

I found out I was admitted today, but the WA decision hasn’t updated. However, I noticed that when I click on “View Financial Aid Document Status”, I can click on the link for aid year 2018 and view a bunch of tabs labeled “documents”, “award summary”, “award notices”, “accept/decline”, and “view/report additional aid.” I don’t remember being able to view these before, so maybe being able to explore those links is a sign that one is about to be admitted? Of course, this could just be something new from the update, so please don’t freak out over it.

Please let us know if your WA updates at midnight! @APJunkie24

do you think they are updating the decisions? I’m trying to click on new and prospective student business in wolverine access, and it won’t load.

Did your view decision link disappear today or was it still there @APJunkie24

I should probably post some info about myself for future reference.
Applied COE In-state, deferred in December, accepted February 23rd on Wolverine Access 12:00 AM
Stats: 35 ACT 1530 SAT 4.0 UW 4.2 W
I never had a view decision link from my deferral, probably because I received the “bad” deferral letter.
Received “bad” deferral letter saying “we need additional information in order to make a final decision.” I’ve realized that they needed information for a specific reason: I’m graduating early and they either wanted to see more of my grades, or they wanted an explanation from my counselor about why I was graduating early. I called admissions after being deferred, and my admissions counselor said they were wondering about my graduating early, and also that she was concerned about my English credit (explained in an earlier post: I had 4 English credits but only 1 actual English class). My counselor sent an email to admissions in January explaining why I was graduating early and why I had so few English classes. A week or so later I sent a LOCI, and got the reply saying they would “advocate for [my] admission” and that I’m a “very strong candidate for consideration.” Just a week ago, I called my territory counselor asking if adding a summer English class to my schedule would improve my chances (she said it wouldn’t) and I told her again that Michigan is my top choice. Just today (Feb 22) my counselor received an email saying “one of your students was granted an exception for the English coursework requirement.” Attached to the email was a PDF of the physical letter of admission for me. The 2nd page of the PDF was my admitted student checklist, and the bottom checkbox said this:
During the application process you were granted an exemption from the four year English coursework requirement. However, if you decide to enroll at the University of Michigan, you will be required to fulfill all of your LSA requirements including the four year English coursework requirement.
I’m really concerned about this, and I’m hoping someone else here might know more about this, since it seems like I would have to somehow take an extra English class before being allowed to attend Michigan.

@APJunkie24 Yeah it sounds like you’ll have to do years of English in a few months:

Garbage like this almost makes me hope my S chooses one of his other schools should he eventually be accepted. >:P

@bsangs stuff like that makes me excited, really hoping I can get in and join the school’s republican group and fight against this hypocritical bigotry.

WA is closed for me now

Pretty sure something is going on
