Deferred U Mich Ann Arbor Class of 2021

@TheShortSon congrats, but this really isn’t the place to post that. Just go on the EA applicant thread.

@TheShortSon don’t be sorry you have every right to be excited! Congratulations that’s a great accomplishment! (Don’t listen to them they r just stressed and jealous)

@TheShortSon You’ve become a scapegoat for our problems.

@TheShortSon You have every right to be excited, but don’t expect support about Ross decisions in a deferred thread. How is the backlash a shock to you?

Can you show us the acceptance letter?

Congrats - Well done! Can you show us acceptance email from WA??

@JBlack7 for Ross or regular UMich?

Ross!

@JBlack7

Congratulations! We are excited to offer you fall 2017 Preferred Admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. On behalf of Dean Scott DeRue, our faculty, and our staff, welcome to Ross. I commend you on your outstanding academic and personal achievements and look forward to being part of your future success.

As a Preferred Admission student you will participate in exclusive sessions, socialize with and receive support from fellow Preferred Admits and BBA students, and take a few courses at Ross during your freshman year. Additionally, there will be special orientation sessions held for you over the summer.

This offer for Preferred Admission remains in effect as long as you meet a few requirements (listed on the online acceptance form link below) during your freshman year on campus. If all requirements are meet at the end of your freshman year, you will be enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Ross beginning in September 2018. "

Thanks! Congrats!

has anyone from Kinesiology heard back from deferral?

I still have the decision link that takes me to the deferral letter. Is that normal?

Yes, it apparently disappears before your decision comes out

Did anyone have their view decision link disappear but never got a decision

@michgirl2000 UMich is on spring break right now so I would wait until next week at the earliest

So did anyone end up getting in yesterday at all??

I think it was only ross

@ScaredofSchool Yeah, it was only Ross

I am a bit perplexed by Michigan.

Applied for early decision to CoE. Was sent an invite to a Hail interview, I accepted then no further news. I then inquired in December since my family was making holiday plans to be out of town and I wanted to make sure if there is an interview we work around that. They said they are trying to pair me with someone but some local interviewers have dropped out.

Then a month later I got deferred.

UW GPA 3.97. ACT 35 SAT 2310 (old score taken in 2015) SAT subject tests chemistry 760 Math 2 800 (subject tests taken in 2014), all tests were just one sitting. Mostly AP classes. National Merit finalist, Extra curricular - black belt in karate, Suzuki Level Book 4 in piano, 12 hours per week part time job, over 500 hours of volunteering and involvement in various in school and outside school clubs.

Was disappointed with the deferral.

Then last week got another contact from someone to schedule me for a Hail interview, wanted to meet but he is 1000 miles away. I informed him I am not local, he then was puzzled why he was assigned to talk to me. Perhaps Skype is an alternative.

I just got a bad feeling with the disorganization.

Posts like that tend to discourage people, including myself. But the truth is, and it took a while for me to accept this, that only the University knows who is a good fit and who is not a good fit. It doesn’t matter that someone with near perfect credentials applies to them. If the university thinks you would not be a useful asset to them or there was a reason the applicant couldn’t thrive, then they have the right to reject the applicant. If someone applies with less than average credentials and the university thinks the applicant is a great fit, then they have the right to accept that person. Even if it makes the near perfect applicant upset. What matters is who can grow the most and do the best if given a UofM education.

No one is guaranteed anything in this grueling process. I want the absolute best for everyone in this thread, but no one is gaurenteed anything. The only thing we are guaranteed is that everyone will hear back by April 1st. And when we do hear back, I genuinely want the best news.

Good luck!
