hopefully you took the sat today. Good Luck! An improved score will certainly give you a much better chance.

Getting deferred is like a second chance. Obviously the admissions department sees something they like in your application profile. Follow the suggestions that sunnyflorida had in her post (they are all great tips).

I think one of the most important things you can do at this point to help yourself out (other than increase your SAT and get good grades in your high school classes) is to call fsu admissions on monday. Ask to speak with an admissions rep about your application. Ask a few questions, but most importantly get the persons name. then follow up with via email periodically to that person with additonal questions and or updated information about yourself. the email naming convention that fsu seems to have is the persons first name initial foloowed by their last name followed by @admin.fsu.edu

so if the person you speak with is named john smith, the email address would be jsmith@admin.fsu.edu

I think having a personal contact on the inside can really make a big difference.

good luck.
