Really Quick I need the deifinitions for Obsequious and Sycophant. In the Hit Parade it says Obsequious- fawning and servile
Sycophant- insincere, obsequious flattery

IDK why I’m having a hard time with these words, every time I look up the words the definitions become more vague and hard to understand. Some help will be very appreciated :)

Sycophant: someone who continuously tries to please people by his/her actions or speech. Usually to impress or to get his/her work done.

Obsequious: to behave in a servile manner.

I distinguish between the two words by associating obsequious to a behaviour caused due to sense of inferiority or obligation. Whereas sycophant it just to impress so that a particular goal is achieved.
