I was wondering if anyone had a case in which they “defied the odds”-- that’s to say, that you didn’t think you’d get into a school with your grade but you did.

EX. My friend E’s top school was UCI, and he applied to Cal… and surprisingly he got in. Didn’t have outstanding grades but he was a determined guy, an English major and is now in his junior year there.

I also know this guy that graduated from my high school with straight A’s. He applied to 16 universities and got into 15, and on the Harvard waiting list. He’s now an Engineering major at MIT. Crazy.
