Delaying your AP Test

I have a basketball game during the same time of my AP Comparative Government test. I can delay it if I want and take it at a later time. How much later is the makeup test, and how much harder is it?

The makeup exams are usually held the week after APs. From what i've heard, they're usually much harder than the normal ones. To get a feel for the FRQs of the makeup tests, look at the Form B for CGAP on ap central.

Form B is not the makeup test. Form B is the test for Europe/Asia.

The makeup versions have never been released.

Are you sure the test is MUCH harder? Do you know of any specific examples or reasons why this is?

According to the collegeboard website, they aren't harder.

are you guys sure you can makeup the ap exam because of sports???? im in the same situation and i really want to find out!

the makeup exams are NOT harder. I took multiple make up tests last year and did better than what I had expected on all of them. For Bio especially, I think I really lucked out taking the make up if anything...the FRQs were SO much easier (for me anyway) than those on the main test (which are posted online)

so I think it depends.

just say you have SWINE FLU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^lmao i had to laugh at that one. i wonder what the high schools are doing for ap exams that are shut down because of swine flu right now cuz you'd think you'd see a helluva lot of threads from nervous students asking that around here...

I'm pretty sure you can't postpone it for sports? My APUSH teacher says the makeup exams are harder. My friend said she knew somebody (yeah, I know doesn't sound reliable) that wanted to do a makeup because her dad died the day before her exam and the school couldn't do it. I think Collegeboard says you can for extreme illness or disaster (like a tornado, or 10 kids at your school got swine flu)

Don't say you have Swine Flu to the school. They'll have to shut it down for a week and postpone everybody's exams.

^Unless you do have Swine Flu. (lol)

And I think it depends on the school, as far a policies go. Some may let you make it up, especially if others are making it up for other reasons. I know my school doesn't. They don't even let you take AP exams for which you aren't in the AP course.

S may have broken his thumb on his writing hand last night. (We're awaiting xray results). 3 AP tests coming up in the next week. He can write Ok, but not great (has to hold the pencil differently). I have a call into the school's AP coordinator. Do they ever allow extra time for tests?

I'm not sure if they'd postpone in a case like that. They might bring in somebody to do the writing on the test.
