<p>We got a Dell catalog in the mail today and they have several touch computers available now. I can see where they would be very handy for college, especially the ones with the removable tablet screen. Anyone have any experience with these?</p>
<p>I’d suggest going to Best Buy and playing around with them to see whether or not you like them. My first experience was not so good. It took me ten minutes to figure out how to open a web page. In general, these devices have not sold well.</p>

<p>My personal feeling is that a PC + Mobile Device (phone or tablet) is a better combination for college students than a Windows 8 device, at least the models out there right now. You’re going to have far richer Apps libraries on Android and iOS and you’re going to get generally better battery life on the tablets unless you find a Windows 8 convertible using Atom processors - but those will be slow.</p>
<p>Neither a tablet nor a laptop be.</p>
