Adam Saleh says that other passengers around him were uncomfortable with him speaking Arabic on the phone to his mother before departure, so the captain kicked him off the flight.
However, some question his claim based on his YouTube history of pranks and hoaxes.
Interesting. I can so see a YouTuber doing something like this to get more publicity. These guys make money on each click and view. They need to generate buzz to grow. So possible.
And this surprises anyone… why? Just because someone is a prankster doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t eventually be truly discriminated against at some point for some really stupid reasons.
I saw a blip on this on TV. It was inferred that there were about 20 passengers who expressed concern to flight attendants not because he was speaking Arabic, but that he was speaking Arabic and not just into the phone in a very loud voice. I have no idea if that is true. Hopefully all sides of this will come out before people start making assumptions without all the information.
I do hope the kid wasn’t just looking for attention. That would be neither funny nor appropriate.
