Delta pilot refuses to fly Muslim scholars

hehe I really can’t help but laugh at some of these ignorant comments, I mean you guys are supposed to be exposed to diversity allowing you to have an open mind. As long as a passenger isn’t posing a threat or violating any laws, there should be no reason to kick him off a plane regardless of the level of comfortability the pilot has.

We’re ALL racist. Most of us attempt not to be outwardly racist, but we all are to some extent. That’s just how people work. This wasn’t like an okay thing, but seriously guys. It’s not the worst thing in the world.

Roxsox- we are all prejudiced, NOT racist.

Don’t talk for everyone Roxsox, we aren’t all racist. What you are talking about isn’t racism but egoism :P. Yeah it’s not the worst thing in the world but it can’t be ignored either.
If you don’t become an actor you’ll never be a factor - Lupe fiasco

Dorito: I’m guessing you’re white right? You may be a bit biased. In fact why don’t you leave the discussion. I feel uncomfortable with you. Have you been checked??

This is not ignorance… this is pilot stupidity. These dudes were screened 3 times and had everything checked. They might as well have been strip searched and the pilot still wouldn’t let them on. There’s no reason to blame Delta, since Delta employees were the ones who tried to reason with the pilot (although the pilot should be reprimanded for extreme incompetency and psychologically checked). If the pilot doesn’t trust airport security, how can he even fly? What an idiot…
off topic, but I like how the media barely covered Hutaree. theres terroriss’ everywhere…

Good to see that the US South is still racist, prejudiced, and backwards as always. I don’t understand how anyone could live down there.

^10 bucks says you’ve never, ever been to the South and are just blindly assuming what you see in the mainstream media is the truth.

Not really seeing what the big deal is here. if a pilot feels that his aircraft is endangered by two suspicious people then it’s his prerogative to refuse to fly.

Yes, and the airline can find another pilot to replace him. Problem solved.

Er the pilot does not own the plane and it is not his job to decide who is suspicious - that’s what airport security is for.

I don’t understand why so many people here rush to defend an obvious instance of discrimination.

Its funny how your contradicting yourself bluntly in those two phrases. Guessing your from the south by protecting them, your second phrase clearly shows your ignorance and racist side. There was no reason whatsoever for the pilot to reject flying since they clearly did not pose a threat, I mean it was bad enough for them to be double checked but for the pilot to insist on his decision when everything has been cleared is just too much.

@antipacifist

You kind of defeat yourself with that second part of your post. lol

Delta would’ve been smarter to change pilots

:rolleyes:
