Delta Tau Delta (DTD) fraternity

what are your inputs on DTD, have you heard mainly good things or bad things?

why dont you rush and find out?

Can someone please explain to me what a “rush” is? I know it has something to do with joining a Fraternity/Sorority but that’s all I know.

rushing is you going to parties and meeting and brothers/sisters. if you go a lot and they start to like you, they will offer you a “bid.” This essentially means they like you and want you to join the frat/sorority. When you have a bid you have the option of accepting the big and becoming a pledge or rejecting it and not joining.

I’ve never heard of DTD, which means they aren’t a “popular” frat (they don’t get hot women or throw sick parties).

^ You obviously dont know much then if you havent heard of them.

DTD got back in IFC 4 years ago, and currently theyre on sober probation due to some unfortunate circumstances during rush. But the parties they have thrown that i have gone too have been amazing.

^Well I’ve heard of them, but not a whole lot. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. Then again, I don’t go to UM yet, that’s just from some freshman and sophomores.

DTD is great. Definitely one of the most underrated fraternities on campus. Their pledge classes have doubled in size since they came back four years ago and they are now starting to really make some noise in the party scene this year. “Tequila Wednesdays” were very popular during the fall consistently bringing out 50+ people (good for a weekday) until some idiot freshman went knocking drunk on the neighbor’s doors until the cops came. The kid claimed he was a potential which explains the probation dealt out. I heard that once they are done on Jan 1st and will be throwing some ragers coming up. Best party of the year yet was “Size Too Small” party at DTD. Nothing beats their huge house, 6 pong tables, and the crazy dance floor downstairs. The brothers that I met were all really chill and knew how to have a great time without coming off like the meatheads at PIKE, SAE, and Theta Chi. I am definitely going to consider rushing next fall either here or Phi Psi.

IFC frats aren’t allowed to throw parties Sun-Wed nights, which would explain their double secret probation.

blairedh, are you a freshman or a sophmore right now?
