Delta TSA touchless precheck ID

Why does this say site maintenance. It comes up for me on delta.com

Does anyone know about this? Is it just for Delta?

One of the requirements is a known traveler number.

My husband and I have global entry, I also have tsa precheck. So I have a number. But my husband only has his global entry number. I’m always confused where to enter his global entry on the airline account. The only time we flew since we got global entry I got precheck but he did not. I suspect it was user error.

I hope this expands to airlines other than Delta. We have an international flight in November from one of the airports listed, right now it’s on Lufthansa but I hope I can find better rates on Delta later.

I hope this makes sense, I feel like I’m a novice flyer

It’s not from Delta, or any other airline — it’s a TSA offering. Individual airlines cannot make their own security rules.

It’s only offered at certain airports though.
(I am a frequent flyer, and I love the convenience it offers).

Global entry automatically includes TSA Pre Check. The touchless ID feature is an opt-in option.

We were having this performed at airports in nyc & sf. It worked SOMETIMES but when it didn’t it created a huge backlog. The agent was not doing it very well and asked for our TSA cards AND our driver’s licenses. Every time the computer didn’t think the person in camera matched the ID, she had to wait for a supervisor to tell her the photo and person matched well enough. It really snarled the line because pretty much everyone was flagged as not matching when we were in line in SF.

It was performed on everyone in TSA line.

We flew American from NYC and Hawaiian from SF. Both had the cameras & compared you & your ID.

I use my Global Entry for recheck. Just enter PASSID in the known traveler number and you will get recheck.
Not sure this was your question…

I’ve used TSA Touchless ID several times from the Delta terminal at JFK (terminal 4). It has worked perfectly every time. There’s usually a dedicated baggage check line, and even though I have Clear and TSA precheck, I always use the Touchless ID line because it’s the shortest.
I’ve never had the opportunity to use it with other airlines or other airports, so YMMV.

Yes! At least for now, the touchless precheck line is shorter than regular precheck.

Oh, my bad, there was no separate touchless terminals when I was at airports—just cameras at TSA & they were trying to match camera with your IDs.

What is this?

Sorry, I corrected to “touchless”

I was never given a TSA pre-check card. I got one with Global Entry, but not TSA. I wondered why I never got one, and went to the TSA pre-check site, and it says there are no cards. What does yours look like?

Will I receive an ID card or other credential to use TSA PreCheck® lanes?

No, there is no TSA PreCheck card. Travelers should enter their Known Traveler Number in their airline reservation to receive a TSA PreCheck® indicator on their boarding pass.

Sorry, I meant I gave my global entry card and was asked did my driver’s license as well. I had never have a prior tsa agent ask me food my driver’s license before.

I don’t fly that often. I thought they always asked for my drivers license when I fly domestically.

Will be flying in a couple of weeks, I’ll try and remember what they ask for

If you don’t have global entry, yes, they want your driver’s license with the gold star. If you’re global entry, normally that card is enough!
