Denied Financial Aid

“How cruel to send a letter of acceptance to a kid who becomes elated, and a separate FA letter to the parents that pretty leaves it up to them to squash their kid’s dream?”

Okay, I thought maybe I was the only one that thought this…as this also happened to my D. She received the acceptance letter and in another envelope was the waitlist for F/A to her parents. (I made sure not to do the dance until all envelopes were opened)

She was aware before we went down this path she would need substantial aid to attend. So we too are in the boat with two acceptances at two different “hidden gems” with a “waitlist” for F/A attached.

My daughter has said she wants to stay on the waitlist and if she gets to attend BS she will be happy and if not she has said she will make the best of her HS years at her local school and be happy there too.

I am curious as to how many people they actually put on the waitlist for F/A.
