<p>My daughter was accepted to both DePaul and Emerson to study theater and has to make a decision by this weekend. Any thoughts?</p>
<p>I may be mistaken, but I understand DePaul’s theatre program requires accepted students to be provisional. Meaning they are accepted-take classes freshmen year-and are then reevaluated at the end of their freshmen year. Not everyone who was accepted is then asked to continue in theatre. You are then faced with whether to continue at Depaul in another department/major or transfer to another theatre program at another school. The up-side is that if you succeed-you have strong creditials/skills to be competitive after college…my understanding stems from a friend whose son attends-and was asked to continue with his theatre studies at DePaul.</p>
