"Describe a character in fiction..."

<p>I was thinking about writing my CommonApp personal statement on Robert Langdon, who is the main character in nearly all of Dan Brown’s novels (The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, The Lost Symbol, etc.). </p>

<p>Is Langdon too much of an overused figure? I mean - he’s no Harry Potter or Holden Caulfield, but are the Dan Brown books too popular for my essay to stand out?</p>

<p>I’d appreciate any input :)</p>

<p>The focus should be the character’s influence on you. They want to hear more about you, not the character. I would think that everyone’s take on this would be different so it wouldn’t matter if anyone else has used that character before. Just my opinion.</p>

<p>I love his books! Write about how it affected you i.eg: changed perspective on religion, realized life has many mysteries, etc</p>
