<p>All right, well it has been a dream of mine to get a job after graduating designing roller coasters. I am currently a junior and am looking at University of Michigan and MSU mostly. What would I need to do and would the career actually be as cool as it sounds?</p>
<p>I looked into that about 4 years ago (in 8th grade). From what I remember, the people that design roller coasters are usually civil and mechanical engineers. Mechanical engineers generally design the cars and other parts like that. Unfortunately I don’t remember much else.</p>

<p>Structural as well (at some schools, it’s part of civil…others, it’s separate). You also have EE for designing controls.</p>
