Designing your own major

I just enrolled at Duke today, and as I look at potential majors I am wondering how med schools would view the “Program II” or “design your own major” option. I would, of course, complete all required courses.

Would creating my own negatively impact my application in any way?

I know that med schools say that they do not care what you major in, but I have heard conflicting opinions on this point.

I refuse to help you because you turned down Penn. Med schools will all reject you now for going to Duke.

Honestly, I doubt it makes a difference so long as you are taking legit classes and not making a basket weaving major.

seriously, after i answered every inane Penn honors program question you had, I’m hurt :'(

I’m sorry I’m sorry :(

I did really appreciate the help though, if that counts for anything :-x

You turned down Penn pre-med for Duke? Why?

Probably because he wants to get away from home. But thats not a legit reason. Call Duke tomorrow and then go down to Penn and tell them you’re going to go. Be like the Creighton basketball Coach.
