Desk drawer snack supply - what's on the menu?

My office provided a Keurig with all kinds of coffee, tea, hot cocoa as well as soft drinks. I love hot chocolate so this was a real weakness for me when I was stressed at work.

I work out of my home. When I have meetings, I bring the snacks. We try not to have much snack food around and try to stick to fresh fruit as our main snacks–guilt-free.

I can’t remember my employers providing snacks in my prior jobs. Sometimes when our firm did very well, we’d have a nice office lunch or party which was hosted by the firm. Sometimes folks would bring snacks or if the got gifts from clients would leave them in the kitchen/break room for everyone to enjoy. There was an office fridge and microwave.

At my last job it was worth working late on the last Fridsy of the month. They would clean out the freezer at 4 pm, and there were almost always Dilly Bars.

My office used to have lunches brought in frequently as well as snack and drinks at all meetings in addition to multiple varieties of coffee and tea. It’s all been pretty much cut back except the coffee/tea but with limited options.

There are several people who are upset about this. I wish we still had the perks, but not that big a deal, IMO.

@GMTplus7 how do you get Girl Scout cookies - aren’t you living across the pond?

My employer has endless free Keurig, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, pears, oranges) and snacks (individual bags of pretzels, Chex Mix, Goldfish crackers, peanuts, fruit snacks, several types of granola bars, BelVita bites, animal crackers), and during our busy season there is dinner provided 4 nights a week and lunch on Saturdays.

" In general I do not snack between meals."- I am complete opposite, my meals are my snacks and vice versa. I like to eat practically almost constantly. I have hard time when we go out. Too much food all at once, not my style of eating…

Coffee, packets of hot chocolate mix, and assorted teas. Mr.'s place does the same. No officially provided snacks. However, when our execs have a meeting, they order soooo much food and hardly eat any. The leftovers always end up in the kitchen! Then there is junk that people bring form home to get rid of… When I buy a ginormous bag of junk at Costco just because it fell on me, I make sure to send said junk with Mr. - their young associates and interns take care of it in nanoseconds!

I own the business. I have a keurig with all kinds of coffee, teas, creamers, different sugars. We get drinks delivered Monday and I let them choose what they want so we have water, sweet tea, San pellegrino, perrier. The office manager orders snacks, crackers, granola bars, cookies, some candy. It’s no wonder office people gain weight.

I work at a small non-profit, all women. We pooled our money for a Keurig machine and I buy pods once in a while and charge 50 cents for them. honor system. The candy drawer is filled by who ever wants to. Several of us like to bake so it’s not unusual for there to be some homemade goodie around. We have a cupboard where we’ve all put an assortment of tea in at one time or another and we share it. There’s no place around to go out to eat so we all pack any meals that we need to eat there. Sometimes it’s like working in a commune.

I gained a fair amount of weight snacking at work. So I said, enough. And told all my coworkers I’m done with snacking, even the healthful kind. (I discovered those healthful snacks make me want to eat all. day. long.)

Now I eat breakfast. I eat lunch. I have afternoon coffee/tea. I eat dinner. I’ve lost 12 pounds since January.
