Hi. I am a USC master of computer science student. I am consider buying between desktop or laptop computer. Do most of the computer science classes require collaboration (i.e. requiring me to bring my computer to work with my friends)? Or would I be fine if I just use my desktop computer at home and computer in computer labs? Thank you.

I wish I could help you more, but I’m only an undergrad and idk about graduate classes. I’d recommend the laptop, which can be pretty powerful, unless you have a need for a lot of power. Then collaboration is easy, and you can take it to class or anywhere.

If you don’t care about taking your laptop anywhere, then I’d recommend a desktop. And you can use the computer labs whenever you need to work on a project on campus.
