Desktop suggestions

-I’m majoring in Mechanical engineering
-light to medium gaming

  • OS doesn’t matter to me
-budget is $1300 max (including monitor)
also suggestions on monitors? I want something pretty big with 2k or 4k resolution
-(requirements from the college) 4 GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive, CPU Intel compatible
  • Pre built and ready to buy. I don’t want to build my own for warranty reasons plus I’m uninformed about how to custom build my own.

Any questions feel free to ask
thanks guys :)>-

have you picked out what you want to buy?

What monitor size do you want?

What form factor do you want your desktop to be?

Are you buying preassembled, or assembling it yourself?

This is what I’ve bought over the past month @MIN16QAKJ @hungryteenager

Buying a cheap printer in the near future

I think the K450e and Zenbook will be plenty powerful for the engineering software I’ll be using in the upcoming years

buy brother brand multi function laster printer. ( around $100) the in k is really cheap .

resolution is really low for 27" monitor. I had the older 27" monitor with same resolution. you should of opt for higher resolution .

I concur on the monitor. 27” with only HD resolution is not great. I’d either get a smaller monitor with that resolution or get something higher resolution. Either way, look for an IPS display. The colors are gorgeous and worth spending a bit extra for. If you want high res (over HD), look for an international seller on eBay. Way cheaper for the same panels as well-known US brands use.

$1300 should be able to buy a great PC that can you any gaming you need. No worries you’ll be fine with above suggestions.

@nanotechnology Definitely agree with you on the IPS. IPS and PLS are way better than TN panels. However, I’m still waiting for my AMOLED monitor :frowning:

Anyways, resolution depends on the buyer. For example, I’ve been using 720p up until the last couple years, so anything 900p and above is awesome to me. I’m actually using a 900p monitor right now. Mainly because it was free :stuck_out_tongue:
