What are my chances at Harvard, Cornell, Stanford, Williams, Swarthmore? Where should I consider applying?

Your SAT’s are excellent except for that one 560, if you can raise it you should be in good shape. Your GPA is very good too, but from your brief description your extracurricular activities are a bit lacking…you will need to make sure you emphasize and put across your passion for one of them.

I think all of the schools you mentioned are reaches, simply because of their competitive nature. If you’re serious about applying here, make SURE you have a couple safety schools or match schools to add to your list. You may or may not get into one of those schools, but definitely research some schools with higher acceptance rates that you can apply to just to keep all your options open and ensure you have some place to go next year.

You’re from an unusual Country and clearly TASP saw something. Raise your SAT and with a great rec I think you have a chance.

Cornell, Chicgo, Michigan Ann-Arbor, I think you have a good chance, IF you raise your SAT scores in CR AND with great essays

Harvard: REJECT
Cornell: Maybe
Stanford: REJECT
Williams: Maybe
Swarthmore: Maybe

I think you’re in good chance, but Sat score seems little low- but you can always retake it

Move that SAT CR score to at least a 680, find one more EC (especially an academic or volunteer one) and your chances would skyrocket at everyplace except Harvard. Also, apply to Penn (where they only require two SATs–but not to their business school–Wharton). You would need about a 650 to 670 to get in there–and they would cover your financial need (if any). Also, apply to Rice, which gives good financial aid packages to international students.

Is it just me or is that Graffe bloke really pessimistic?

It’s not just you, ArchHopeful :)

It really is a crapshoot at all the top Ivies/Stanford though. Nothing can be predicted
