Desperately need help!

Living in NJ, I lost all my power (and I still don’t have it) from the Hurricane. Which means I qualify for the EA Exception deadline. However, I already finished my common app and can’t edit it. Where should I add in my explanation for why I deserve the exception?

It’s due in 2 hours, please help!

Confused… are you able to get at your common app somehow and work on it, then submit it? If your only question is where to put the info on your delay, load it in the “additional information” document. If you are having trouble because you still don’t have power, call admissions tomorrow and let them know that your power still is not back. Ask for an additional extension – if they give it (I think they will), put that and the name/date of who you spoke to in the additional info section when you get at it.

The thing is, I can’t edit my common app since I clicked submit already. Michigan isn’t the first school I’m applying to, so I don’t know where to add it. Additional Information is already filled with my resume!

From what I recall you must create an alternative version of the common application and request an extension in the additional information section. Also, I would suggest emailing ecredentials@umich.edu and explaining them your situation. I hope this helps :)
