I am a freshman at NMMU(Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) in South Africa. I have researched a great deal about international universities and through my research I have concluded that Duke university is best for me.

I intend on staying at nmmu for another 3 years to complete my degree. by the way i am a first year economics student.

What i really want to ask is, is there a way in which i will be able to do my honours at duke .

i know that 3 years is a long time away but with its strong reputation even in south africa, i think starting to work now towards my goal goal would be the best option.

Problem is i have heard that its much harder for an international applicant to be accepted than a citizen of america. Our education systems are in 2 different worlds so it would be difficult for me to convert our college acceptance systems much simpler into the americanized version:SAT.

I have looked into others as well namely: vandy, emory, uVa nothwestern. I don’t want no ivy league education. i have suffered enough under preppy classmates with their parents flashy credit cards.

I desperately need help as in now plz.
