actually since i’m really nice, i’ll tell YOU, kARTHIKSMART, what made people turn against you in this thread.

First, you say
which made us all think you’ve run into some really deep trouble. and then at the end you said
Without even going into what you said in-between, this last statement is a “PLEASE RATE MY CHANCES” declaration.

and then, going into what you said in-between, we see that you’re an excellent applicant. then we see that
which i’m sure ticks some people off (not me though). but i’d say the worst thing you said was
and
Do you have any idea how many people are so willing to trade those scores with you? Do you know how many people struggled like crap and still can’t get those scores? DO you know how many people could only wish for scores like that? And here you are complaining and whining that your scores aren’t good. You sound like a conceited Ivy League person.

Lots of us here aren’t that gifted to be able to get such scores, and some of us who do are overjoyed. and what you essentially did was to belittle those people, saying “it’s not a big deal because it’s a miserable scores.” How do you think that made others feel?

To lend weight to what i jsut said, here’s a quote from a fellow CCer:

And then your horrible typing. We gave you advice to change your typing to reflect the fact that you’re a brilliant student about to go to college. but you mocked us, saying “i like typing this way and no one is gonna tell me anything else.”

alot of us wants to help. forget me for a moment. badman89, who called you a “conceited person” towards the end, was trying to be helpful too. and then Lakshya M?

do you know why? it’s because by mocking our advice about your typing, you essentially come across as a stubborn and proud person, which not many CCers like. coupled with the fact that you just called your SAT scores ‘miserable’, it’s easy to see why many turn against you towards the end.

we are a community of helpful and nice people (most of us anyway). but the no. 1 rule in CC is: be nice to people if you want them to be nice to you.
