Detailed Score Report vs. Initial scores

Hi all,

When the results for the October 5 SAT were released online on Oct 22, my reading score was a 660. I wish I’d printed it out, but I logged in and saw it. My parents logged in separately and saw it. My teacher and I logged in at school and saw it. A week later, I went to print out the detailed score report and the score had changed… it was now 600. My math (770) and writing (610) scores stayed the same.

Did this happen to anyone else? Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I did see one other post over the summer from someone who had a similar experience with their June scores.

Are the first scores “unofficial”?

I’ve called College Board and they are going to get back to me “within 7 business days.”

Well, I’ve been getting the runaround from college board for three weeks now. No information or explanation. I could understand if it was because the initial score reports were unofficial and did not include a certain set of students or if there was an error in the initial scoring… but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want some acknowledgment of it and reason to trust the scores’ integrity.

Has anyone ever experienced or heard of something similar. I did see the post below by user biltchar, but they never seemed to get a reply either.

Reading score changed when detail score came

When we checked on Jun 27th the Reading score was 770 and then it changed to 660 when the detail score report came after 2 weeks. Have any of you faced this issue. I have called many times College Board but no help at all. Anyone faced similar issue and got resolved?
