<p>Ok, a serious response. You don’t say what it’s for but because it’s detention, not suspension, I’m assuming it’s for something relatively minor…? Or maybe embarrassing, hence you not listing it…
I was told that some schools - typically Ivies - may send a questionnaire to the HS asking a lot of questions, including about any integrity violations, etc. Most schools will answer those honestly, but won’t volunteer info that’s not asked about. So you may want to check -</p>
<p>1) Does Cornell do this? Your GC would know.
2) Does detention go on to your school record, either internal or external?
3) How does the school report that type of info?</p>
<p>Again, your GC should be able to answer these questions.</p>
