Hello guys. I was just wondering how I can develop a love for learning. I really want to be interested in learning new things and new way’s of doing things and avoiding ignorance at all costs. I want to start going to school with love and not for hate. I know this is more of a personal development type question but I just need help from people that can tell me how I can have an increased passion for learning. I also want to get A’s on test not because I want to get an A but because I love learning. Thank You!
-
Start reading things that interest you for fun. If you are interested in the human brain and psychology for instance, go and find books on those and start reading them.
-
Youtube can also be a great tool if you are interested in more video content.
-
Find ways to relate what you are learning into everyday life. Look for ways to apply what you learn or keep a journal to better remember them.
-
Bring it up in conversations with others so it is not limited to just yourself. (“Did you know that among seahorses, it is the male that gets pregnant? Woah”)
-
Find other people that share the same interests or just love learning as much as you do. Spend time with people that are significantly more knowledgeable like teachers or professors and ask them questions.
-
Start your own independent research project or video project sharing what you have learned.
-
Find fun creative ways to learn things – like acting out scenes from a biography of MLK or posting quotes from them on your wall.
-
Be imaginative and creative, and connect them to other things you know/want to know!
Thank You! BTW how do I start my own independent research project?
Love of learning has nothing to do with a grade. It’s a lifelong mindset. It’s a healthy one. Most of your learning will not be graded. Ignore the grades, they are what they are and are irrelevant to the learning. Just love and aggressively pursue the learning. That’s it.
