I am interested in staying in the DFW area to get my master’s and PHD. My ultimate goal is to become a professor and a researcher, and my second choice of career is to work with children in early childhood intervention centers and other programs for at-risk youth.

My Bachelor’s degree is in Child Development from UT Dallas. I am torn between UT Dallas and Texas Woman’s University for graduate school, with UNT as a possbile third choice.

My parents are worried about quality and prestige of a graduate degree in child development, family studies, or family therapy from TWU. They would much prefer I get the Human Development and Early Childhood Disorders degree from UTD or a psych degree from UNT.

Does anyone know about the pros and cons between all these programs?
