I’m an International applicant aiming to join a California Community College for a Computer Science (or Engineering) Major, but I’m confused on deciding DVC or Berkeley City College (of Peralta Colleges) for CS as I want to earn an Associate Degree and transfer to either CSU or Cal Poly (since UCs are too expensive for Internationals). Could someone please counsel me on this. Btw, I’ve already researched via Assist.org and the Chancellor’s Office, and I’ve found DVC is superior to Peralta…I simply want a recommendation. ~O) B-)
Diablo Valley College. Peralta is a POS system. I’m currently in it and it’s a freaking nightmare.
DVC is the better choice academically.
It’s location leaves much to be desired, but it’s an easy BART ride away from Berkeley.
Housing will also be considerably more affordable in the DVC area.
It’s basically better in every single way. If I could start over at DVC I would have.
I went to DVC and I would say it’s an amazing community college. They have a lot of classes to offer especially in computer science which helped me a lot when I transferred.
