Nothing at all yet from Andover. Hopefully delayed.
Yep
@mathman1201
morejavapls;s daughter got the package, they said so on the M10 freakout thread
Do you know what state? @napper
Do you need to sign for the FedEx letter? Nobody is home - I will need to work during the day to pay for the tuition and I didn’t call FedEx ahead of time. I couldn’t bear to have the FedEx person on the phone judge me as a parent and scold me for being so impatient. The conversation would be something like: “OK, I have had enough of anxious parents expecting unrealistic results from Andover. The answer is no - you don’t have an acceptance letter and, quite frankly, the fact that you wait with baited breath over this decision means that you do not deserve an acceptance” - click [dial tone…]
I get several packages a week so I use fedex delivery manager. It automatically texts me whenever fedex receives a package for my home address. You do have to provide some information to fedex as part of the registration to confirm it is your address etc. It is really useful as you can have them hold packages or send them to an alternative address.
You can learn more about it here
@heartburner you’re lucky if the FedEx person speaks English at a 5th grade level.
We were not home 2 years ago and FedEx left the package. There was bad weather in New England that weekend and some people did not get packages/mail until Monday M11 while some got them on Sat M9. Good luck everyone.
" you’re lucky if the FedEx person speaks English at a 5th grade level."
Says the magnanimous person waiting for an Andover acceptance…
@PhotographerMom I’ve called FedEx on more than one occasion. Just called up to check on delays and I had to hang up because the woman’s accent was so heavy and they obviously didn’t have a great set-up because I could hear Spanish in the background.
morejavapls says they live 1 hour away from andover, and /they/ only got it at 10:45. So there may still be hope for the farther people!
I have a real issue with your post, grace567. Andover expects a tolerant and diverse class. Keep that in mind.
@merxusa You enjoy getting customer service that is obviously based in another country? That’s a pleasant experience to you?
And for your information, I grew up in a very poor area where a good chunk of the population is ESL.
Let’s not argue. And btw, if you choose to call, you shouldn’t complain. You should be grateful that there are such services that will serve your temptations to know beforehand. @grace567
@grace567 Relax. Be kind. Isn’t that a hallmark of Andover? That they like kind kids…? Even if it isn’t, remember that no one is better than anyone else. We all have strengths and weaknesses. To call someone out for not meeting “your” standards is undesirable.
I know everyone is getting anxious and tense, but let’s all take a breath and try to relax. Everyone’s feelings are probably really fragile so let’s just keep that in mind when posting. If anybody posts anything offensive, it may just be because he/she is upset or nervous. Let’s not judge, and instead help each other through this looooong loooong day.
Please everyone, let’s relax. There is no need to call FedEx right now–Andover will release online decisions in 3.5 hours. Your package may be delayed, and it may not be delayed. There is no way of knowing and nothing is set into stone yet. It is useless to argue with the FedEx employees about delays when decisions are only a few hours away. So sit tight, watch some TV, eat some ice cream, and wait until 5 pm (EST).
Choate decisions came in and we are doing the happy dance!!!
Waited with fingers crossed for FedEx all day. Right after 5 pm and could see on Gateway, the neighbor dropped off the FedEx – delivered to the wrong address. !!! Good outcome but very, very long day waiting!
Gateway has been down for at least the last 20 minutes. Now I’m thinking the FedEx checkers were onto something. Patience has not paid off… Anybody else unable to check on Gateway?
