Did anyone get accepted to Berk, LA, or SD with 3+ C's?

just wondering. my little bro got rejected from all 3 and waitlisted at irvine. he had decent numbers too.

2200 sat, 800 math, 750 physics. the kicker is he had a 3.6 with 3 C’s (AP Bio, AP Calc A, Japanese). i thought he had a shot at SD but never expected him to be waitlisted at Irvine.

UCs weigh GPA to highly.

Here’s my stats so far.
3.55 GPA UW GPA here, 2220 SAT, 800 Math 2, 800 Physics
Rejected UCSD,UCLA,UCB,UCI
Accepted to Johns Hopkins University (which is way more selective than any of the UCs).

Do not try to apply to UCs with low GPA high SAT combo.

when’d he get the C’s? jr or sr year?

I got in last year with 2 Cs (Bio honors and trig/pre-cal honors) and got two more Cs my senior year (physics ap/calc bc…thank god it was senior year) xD…if it helps, I had a 2150 SAT, 730 chem 750 math…I got accepted into Cal and SD. rejected from LA. Will your brother try appealing?

I think it may have just been the overall GPA. UC admissions were really tough this year. I know people from my high school who were rejected from every UC with a 3.6~ GPA. UCLA/Berkeley also only took accepted like 6 guys in total from my hs…

@cs91: all 3 in sophomore year.

@tc: no he’s going to uc davis, no appeals.

@demoz: yeah, it seems they were too tough this year.

i got in with straight As as a sophomore and 1/2 Bs + As as a junior. relatively low gpa with a 2270 sat

uci, davis, san diego and berkeley. rejected from ucla though.
the kicker is i got rejected from 6 of my 8 privates (no ivys)
funny that, huh?
