did i do the right thing dropping AP chem?

I dropped ap chem in order to alleviate some stress… since i am taking

ap physics c
calc bc
ap bio
ap chem (dropped)
ap micro econ/macro econ
english 12

its senior year and i wanted a break.

its not that i couldnt keeep up with the work. i really have about an average of 7 hours of homework a day.

i never paid attention to the lectures in ap chem, read the chapter the night be4 and still got an A for the semester as well as an A in every other class.

I dropped the class since it seemed pointless to waste an hour in a class that seems so easy that i can read the chapter the night be4 and ace the tests.

i have old ap tests and 2 ap chem prep books. was it a good idea for me to drop and study the rest of the semester by myself. it was mostly the homework sets that were annoying me

i am only aiming for a 4

Sounds like you have an easy AP Chem class - this doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll do extremely well on the exam.

i wouldn’t say it is that easy. the class average is like an 80% i think. He gave us half of an AP exam along with a midterm just recently. I scored a 90 on the AP part. and I heard that you need a 60-70% to get a 5.

The actual class doesn’t really matter. What matters is what you score on the ap exam. In the end if you got an F in the class but got a 5 on the exam then the 5 is what goes. Likewise, if you get an A in the class but a 1 on the exam then that A will do nothing for you as far as college credit goes (which is the most important thing).

Actually, you may need the labs for chemistry…

I think you will be all right , as long as you KEEP reading. Though it may be awkward you can ask your former teacher about the labs.

If you thought that you couldn’t handle it, then you made the right decision!
