Thanks for the Comments!

yes you are ivy material, did u apply ED any where?

testing will be ignored. you’re very competitive anywhere…

cornell has a medicine major?

Well, I applied to two Ivies, Stanford and UC Berkeley…I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

nvm i’m an idiot…no wonder why I failed the CR section

Ivy 1 + Ivy 2 + Stanford + UC Berkely

I was thinking about taking the SAT for one last and final time…but I believe 3 times is enough…(considering my first fluke)…I just hope these colleges will understand where I’m coming from (i.e. my socio-economic status and the fact that I’m the first one in my family headed to college).

2 ivies plus stanford and Berekely or r u refferring to them as ivies? b/c they are not ivies. if not which ivies? be becoming with information don’t be secrettive if u want help

i thought he was saying stanford and berkley were ivies

If he was listing them as Ivies, he would have put a colon. The way the sentence is written now, the commas separate them. So, there are a total of four schools applied to: (see the colon?) Ivy 1, Ivy 2, Stanford, Berkeley.

cornell won’t know anything about your socioeconomic status. need blind admission means just that. adcoms don’t know who’s rich and who’s poor.

do you really believe that? navie the finanical aid office is the same office as admission, low-income students are a target just like urm they need them to further diversify theier campus and get pell grants. don’t you get it college is a business

I know what you mean, I’ve suspected the same, but I don’t see the benefit in taking a poor minority over a wealthy one.

i don’t know if they do or don’t, you can be poor and not a urm, not saying you were saying that all urm r poor bc im not

I wasn’t implying that. I’m a URM myself. I see your points though. I personally still don’t think that being poor will help anyone in admissions. I certainly wish it did though.

it’s the overcoming adversity angle.
and to continue this discussion (though UCLAri cleared it up well)

do math people. cornell is THE engineerings school. If he applied to Cornell, and he considers stanford and UC-Berk ivies, he would think he applied to THREE ivies, unless he thought Stan and Berk were ivies, and cornell wasn’t, and no one with those stats can be THAT street-dumb

i didn’t think you were, just making sure. yep is it won’t help them if they are not qualifed. but cornell and ny state have programs EOP CEOp- i don’t know something like that for socii-economical disadvantage kids. they probably have to fill a few spaces each year but thats another story

To clarify things, the two Ivy League schools that I applied to were: Brown and Princeton. The reason I posted this thread was to see if I was competitive enough to survive the applicant pool at Cornell. I was considering about apply to Cornell, but I simply ran out of time. :{

deadline isn’t until jan 1, i would have applied to princeton and brown but thier applications were ridiculous especially brown,

yeah. the other day i was saying “i wish i had remembered to give my GC the brown form, so i could apply.” then i looked at the app, and gasp I was fine with it
