Did I screw up badly?

So I applied to SIU for fall 2018. I registered for their online network Salukinet and created an ID so I could view my application status, not anything else. I got my acceptance letter a few days afterwards and it turns out, doing this is one of the essential steps to becoming an actual student there, and I’m not ready to enroll there just yet (Obviously I’m going to apply to more schools and see what happens) So, by creating an account for their network, did that enroll me to the university? I haven’t accepted any offers or scholarships from there, creating an account for Salukinet was literally all I’ve done aside from applying.

I wonder if you accidentally applied online. Did you send them scores, transcripts, or anything? Did you pay the $40 application fee? Check the letter to see if they approved you for 2018 or Summer/Fall 2017.

Have they opened application process for Fall 18 yet?

It’s for 2018. I applied online, sent in all the scores and fees, registered to their Network, and then I got the acceptance letter all in that order. I just don’t know if by registering to their network, I’ve actually enrolled myself by doing so. If that’s the case then I’ve screwed up.

I’d call them and ask. If you did, it’s easily undone.

I doubt you are committed to attend. I used to work at a non-selective university, and they admitted most applicants, but they didn’t expect all the applicants to enroll. But if you are concerned, contact them and ask.
