I started getting lazy my Junior year, and as such my class rank dropped down from 4% to maybe even out of the top ten. I don’t regret it as I’ve always been the most lazy overachiever ever, and I don’t think I’ve ever gone a semester without missing WAY over the legal number of schooldays.

Anyways, can I still get in?
GPA- 3.7/4.18
APs- 5s on Statistics, AP Psych, and Human Geo;; 3s on APUSH and World History
ECs- I wasn’t too active in school, but I did do a couple things like Medical academy, volunteered at a hospital, medical club, and marching band my freshman year
SAT- Instead of submitting an SAT score I am submitting my three 5s on APs (they let you do that!) do you think it looks as good?

I think you definitely have a shot, but if you’re a smart underachiever I would put in a few hours of studying and shoot for a 2250+ on the October SAT. I know kids who got into NYU with everything mediocre and a strong SAT.

I was accepted into NYU honors last year, but did not enroll.

Your GPA is fine it’s not as weak as you may think. That’s good that you have 5’s in three areas but make sure to take an AP science this year and get an A the first semester since you don’t have a standardized score in a Science area if you are applying for a pre-med track. Your EC’s are great! Don’t worry too much about that, but do stay involved during the year.

I agree with HaterGonnaHate you should take the SAT, I don’t think a 2250 is necessary but something 2100 or above would be good.

Best of luck.

You could probably get in with a 1950. NYU isn’t all that tough unless you apply to Stern. You will get 0 financial aid, but you’ll be in.
