Mine was fairly long. not sure of word count but about 1.5 pages 12 point font. I wrote about how I wanted to go there when I was younger for silly reasons and that it wasnt until last year i realized that northwestern actually would be the perfect fit for me. I wrote about my visit (I stayed with a girl from my high school who is a freshman there now) and I discussed how through that visit I went from being 90% sure to 100% sure. I talked about how I fell in love with the engineering school because it is actual engineering in your first year and how team oriented everything was as well as how many girls are there. I ended up bumping into a professor and spoke with her for almost half an hour and I wrote about that. I also discussed the community feel of northwestern that I found to be very strong at the homecoming football game I attended.

Yes, it sounds (to me) that you wrote about exactly the right things. All of those things are personal experiences that no one else has had and that are specific to NU. It sounds like you did a great job.

Good luck!

thanks, my big concern is that i did not devote enough to talking about the engineering school, it was only about a paragraph of my whole essay. do you think that is enough?

I think one paragraph about the engineering school should be enough, as long as the other paragraphs were also unique, specific, and passionate, and it sounds like they were.
