<p>Is it a bad thig to wait to the deadline to submit applications and such when applying to prestigious schools</p>

<p>I don’t think it matters (as long as it isn’t a rolling admissions school).</p>

<p>It depends…it’s all about combination - if you’re an awesome student that prestigious schools can’t say NO to, or if you’re one of those underrepresented minorities that the school is planning on recruiting, then as long as you just make the deadline, you’re fine! </p>

<p>If you’re an average (or worse) student, it is in your best interest to apply as early as possible so you are not bunched off with a whole bunch of other applicants. Since the review process is very subjective, relativity plays a huge role - so if you’re sending your application early or even mid-way, you might have a “better chance” of catching their eye.</p>
