Hello, I am a sophomore in a competetive public high school. My grades last year were A Global, B- Math honors, B+ English, B+ French, A independant science study thing, B Regents Chemistry… I was in all the hardest classes last year, and this year I am in all the hardest classes again but I am not in one honors course (honors english.) Assuming I get all A’s for the rest of my high school carrer and I do extracurriculars (I am extremely good at music, practice piano 2 hours a day, went to TOC Debate last year, stuff like that,) have I messed up my chances of getting into a ivy league/other competetive school with my grades last year?

Princeton doesn’t consider freshman grades; as long as your rank can be salvaged, you should be fine.

Yes, the actual grades I would not worry about at all, considering it was just freshmen year. However, your GPA and class rank will likely be affected, and you’ll just have to work to pull both of those back up by taking classes with more quality points (AP and honors.)
